Punta Uva Beach Location

Just Off The Main Road, A Short Walk To The Sand

Our villas are tucked into the jungle just off Puerto Viejo's paved main road, with free private parking inside our gated property — no 4x4 or rental car required, and no hassle finding parking at Playa Arrecife. Follow that same road a few minutes toward the coast and you'll reach Playa Arrecife and Punta Uva Beach, passing local restaurants, sodas, and the neighborhood store along the way.

A mini-market nearby carries organic goods and everyday basics, it's about a 15-minute drive to Puerto Viejo centro for more shopping, restaurants, and nightlife, and just 6 minutes to Manzanillo and the national park. Rent a car, or make it more fun with an ATV, motorcycle, golf cart, or banana bike — or hop in a tuktuk for the full Caribbean experience.

Caribbean vs. Pacific

Why Our Side Of Costa Rica Feels Different

Costa Rica has two very different coasts. The Pacific side is generally busier and more developed, with more resorts and surf towns. Our Caribbean coast is the quieter, wilder alternative — jungle grows right down to the sand, the water is warm year-round and, on many days, calm enough for an easy swim at beaches like Punta Uva, and the protected coral reef of Cahuita National Park is nearby. Ocean conditions do change, so always check them before swimming. Add in Puerto Viejo's laid-back Afro-Caribbean culture, reggae, and creole cooking, and you get a slower, softer side of the country that feels like a different world.
